On March 4, 2011, Eli Lilly and Company CEO Dr. John Lechleiter together with the President of Eli Lilly China Eric Baclet and Vice President Christine Zhou came to visit our center and met with the hospital management team. In this visit, Lilly management team focused on such topics as the China healthcare system, cancer occurrence rate and their treatments. The hospital management team hosted this visit, including Guoliang Jiang the Hospital President, Dingwei Ye Vice President, Haiquan Chen the Chair Department of Thoracic Surgery, Quanxing Ni the Honorary Director, Department of Pancreas and Hepatobiliary Surgery, Professor Xiaolong Fu and Professor Min Fan from Radiation Oncology Department and Professor Zhiqiang Meng from Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, Xi Cheng the Head of International affairs,. During the meeting, Ms. Xi Cheng introduced the history and recent development of Shanghai Cancer Center Fudan University. Then Mr. Jiang explained the future plan and vision of development. Furthermore, both sides discussed in depth about topics they were concerned about and expressed strong interest in the future collaboration. At the end of this meeting, both sides exchanged gifts.     
 
After the meeting, Lilly management team accompanied by Dr. Menghong Sun from Tissue Bank, Bo Yu from Pharmacy, Weijian Guo from Drug Clinical Trial Institute visited Tissue Bank, IV Preparation Center and Phase I Clinical Trial Center. They said a high praise for the development of the hospital.
 

 

 

On Mar. 15, 2011, Lilly Global Leadership Conference (GLC) representative team led by Mr. Timothy Garnett came to visit our hospital after the Eli Lilly CEO Dr. John Lechleiter’s visit on Mar. 4. This representative team included vice presidents in Medical Research, Diagnostics and Sales Divisions. The hospital management team hosted their visit, including Vice President Dingwei Ye, Xi Cheng the Head of International Affairs, Jin Li the Chief of Medicine Oncology and other physicians. During the meeting the Lilly GLC team focused on the details about the treatment of Chinese cancer patients in our hospital and the Chinese physicians’ participation in drug clinical trials. Afterwards, the Lilly team visited the Breast Cancer Diagnostic Center in our hospital and understood the diagnostics and treatment of Chinese breast cancer patients.
