On November 21, 2016, FUSCC Signed an agreement with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) for both to become sister institutions. At the signing ceremony were present President GUO Xiaomao, Party Secretary LI Duanshu, Vice-president YE Dingwei, and CHEN Zhen, as well as Dr. Peter Pisters, President and CEO of University Health Network (UHN), Toronto,Professor Mary Evans, Director of Cancer Program, Princess Margaret Cancer Program, UHN, Professor Brian O’Sullivan, Chair of Head and Neck Cancer Program, Bartley-Smith Wharton Chair, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, UHN, Dr. David Jaffray, Executive Vice President of Technology and Innovation, UHN, Dr. Rama Khokha, PhD,Director of Research (Interim), UHN, Dr. Shao Hui Huang, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto / Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, UHN.



The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest integrated cancer research, teaching and treatment centre in Canada. Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in Shanghai and one of the leading cancer centers in China. The two institutions have similar historic and ongoing visions for oncology. Both organizations have reviewed their vision and mission and have determined that there is a common desire of both parties to have a relationship to maintain mutually agreeable goals. According to the agreement, both sides would carry out various co-operations and exchanges. We believe that the academic exchange and collaboration between these two institutions will bring benefits for both the professionals and cancer patients in the future.

After the signing ceremony, the first FUSCC-PM Joint Symposium was held in FUSCC. The theme of the symposium is A Shared Vision for the Future: Patient Care, Collaboration, Scholarship. Experts from the two institutions delivered lectures to the audiences from FUSCC.
