FUSCC has been an education and training base of the Shanghai Medical College of Oncology since 1982. Lessons are taught by the hospital's professors, associate professors and attending physicians to students who major in medication, hygiene, pharmacy, and nursing.

FUSCC was equipped to train Oncology PHD students in 1984. The State Education Commission has been regarding the discipline of Oncology as one of its key focuses since 1989. Radiation therapy thus became the key focus of Shanghai Medical College.

FUSCC's top priority is educating and training the top talents in this industry, mainly to postgraduate students. Its cancer center takes the responsibility of teaching clinical medicine (5, 7, or 8 year courses), basic medicine, disease prevention and nursing, as well as clinical practices for all courses. Through continuous exploration and innovation, FUSCC has taken its postgraduate training program into a new era, where a large number of medical talents are educated in its cancer center.

At present, FUSCC employs 75 masters degree tutors and 55 Ph.D. tutors. In 2016, 51 students attained their masters degree and 42 students achieved their Ph.D.. There are currently 175 masters degree students, 177 Ph.D. students and 7 post doctorate researchers under FUSCC's wing.
