The chair of the multidisciplinary treatment team of thyroid cancer is Professor Yi Wu of Head and Neck Surgery. The team is well experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer. In the year of 2010, 1634 cases of thyroid surgery were completed in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery , which ranks top in China.

Based on the principle of Evidence-Based Medicine and the latest researches worldwide, the multidisciplinary team has established the guideline of diagnosis and treatment for thyroid cancer. The aim of this guideline is to promote the cooperation among different clinical departments so as to provide a better care for patients with optimized comprehensive treatment protocol, and finally to realize an improved survival and quality of life for patients with thyroid cancer.
