The proposed study will involved three collaborative research programs: 1) Evaluating herbal/nature product treatments that target disease outcomes and treatment– and disease-related symptoms. 2) Determine the effects of acupuncture on specific clinical symptoms in patients with cancer. 3) Examine the biobehavioral effects of qigong and other mind-body-based interventions in patient with cancer.

The goal of our International Center of TCM for Cancer is to examine three aspects of TCM in a cancer setting: 1) herbal/natural products; 2) acupuncture; and 3) Qigong. We will evaluate herbal/natural product treatments that target disease outcomes and treatment- and disease-related symptoms; determine the effects of acupuncture on specific clinical symptoms in patients with cancer; and examine the biobehavioral effects of Qigong in patients with cancer.
